Before he antagonizes the Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Doom will take over the Fortnite Battle Royale island.
Announced at D23 by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, the next season of Fortnite Battle Royale (Chapter 5: Season 4) has been titled “Absolute Doom,” with the island’s inhabitants partnering with various Marvel heroes in hopes of stopping Doom’s reign across the island.
Absolute Doom is the second Fortnite season entirely Marvel-focused after Chapter 2: Season 4: Nexus War. Similar to Nexus War’s battle pass, which allowed players to unlock classic characters like Storm, Mystique, Groot, She-Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Doctor Doom, Absolute Doom’s battle pass is chock full of fan-favorite superheroes and villains.
Which characters are part of the Fortnite x Marvel battle pass?
The Absolute Doom battle pass will cost 950 V-Bucks (Fortnite’s in-game currency). Upon purchasing the battle pass, players will unlock Gwenpool (an amalgam of Gwen Stacy and Wade Wilson) right away. War Machine, Pellverine (a Peely/Wolverine amalgam), Emma Frost, Captain Jonesy (a Jonesy/Captain America amalgam), Mysterio, and Shuri/Black Panther are the other Marvel characters that players will be able to unlock in the Absolute Doom battle pass. A new Doctor Doom skin will also be available via battle pass quests in September.

Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 4 begins on August 16, 2024, and is free-to-play on all major platforms.
