James Gunn Will Slow Down on Debunking DCU Rumors, Here’s Why

For months now, James Gunn has been open about most any and all things concerning the DC Universe on Twitter. However, Gunn recently said he will no longer be commenting on every single DCU rumor that pops up.

Why is James Gunn not responding to DCU rumors anymore?

Taking to Twitter over the weekend, Gunn — who is co-CEO of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran — said that he would begin to “slow down” on calling out what he calls “bulls— rumors” about DC. According to Gunn, one of the reasons he’s doing this is he’s found that people will just make up stuff to get a comment from him, and he no longer wants to be part of that process.

The other reason he won’t be commenting on as many DCU rumors, Gunn said, is because he’s currently storyboarding Superman: Legacy, and doesn’t have much time to comment on everything nowadays. Previously, Gunn had been very open about the ongoings of the DC Universe, addressing casting rumors, character news, and much more.

The DC Universe’s first phase, Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature a multitude of different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include Superman: Legacy, a Batman and Robin-focused movie called The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Swamp Thing film, and multiple TV shows.
