First Look At Devil’s Reign: Omega #1

Wilson Fisk was the mayor of New York City. However, it wasn’t enough for the former Kingpin of Crime. In Devil’s Reign, Fisk tried to eliminate all of the superheroes in New York. But Daredevil was the one that Fisk wanted to destroy once and for all. That’s why Fisk murdered Matt Murdock with his bare hands in front of a witness. Unfortunately for Fisk, the person he killed was actually Matt’s brother, Mike Murdock. But now Daredevil has no secret identity to go back to, and the world thinks he’s dead.

In Superhero Hype’s first look at Devil’s Reign: Omega #1, writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Rafael De Latorre pick up with the aftermath. Fisk is out of power and on the run. Regardless, Daredevil can’t avenge his fallen brother yet. Because today is the day of Matt Murdock’s funeral. There’s also a new mayor in New York City, as well as a new Kingpin.

This issue will also feature backup stories by writer Rodney Barnes & artist Guillermo Sanna, as well as writer Jim Zub & artist Luciano Vecchio,

Here’s the official description from Marvel.

“In the wake of one of the most visceral DAREDEVIL, nay, MARVEL stories EVER, the Marvel Universe’s New York City stands remade and reforged — if not in Wilson Fisk’s image, then at the very least in his spirit! After a battle that nearly tore the city and its citizens apart, New York’s super heroes have no choice but to try to adapt to the new and dangerous paradigm they find themselves operating under — with eight million people turned against them!”
