Amazon’s The Wheel of Time Poster Confirms a November Premiere Date

Earlier today, Amazon Prime hosted its own Comic-Con@Home panel to share new details about The Wheel of Time, based on the fantasy novels by Robert Jordan. Unfortunately, there’s no trailer yet. But fans can instead feast their eyes on a new poster for the series that features Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred. The poster also reveals that the show will hit the platform sometime in November. Check it out for yourself below.

In Jordan’s books, Moiraine belongs to Aes Sedai, an order of women reared in the White Tower of Tar Valon and trained to channel a mysterious force known as the One Power. Amazon previously released a short video of Pike’s character harnessing this power, which also happens to be the main source of magic in all the land. On the show, Moiraine will embark on a perilous journey with five young companions in tow. One of these travelers is said to be the fabled Dragon Reborn, who will either be humanity’s savior or the harbinger of its destruction.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins appeared during the panel to discuss his love for Jordan’s original series, which dates all the way back to his own childhood. He also heaped praise on Pike, whom he called “the best foundation this show could ever hope for.”

The Wheel of Time’s premiere may be three months away, but Amazon has already started production on season 2. Also in the works is a separate trilogy of films that will take place thousands of years before the books. Zack Stentz was recently hired to pen the script for the first of these movies, titled Age of Legends.
