Elizabeth Olsen Teases Big Change Starting With WandaVision Episode 4

WandaVision has already debuted three episodes, opening more questions than ever about the show’s true nature. But while the answers are yet to come, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest entry has already conquered many fans’ hearts. While talking with Digital Spy, the actress discussed the peculiarity of Marvel’s unusual show.

“In superhero movies you usually know who the villain is,” she said. “Or you know when they’re coming into the timing of the film; you know when they’re going to show themselves. In WandaVision, you don’t know who the villain is or if there is a villain, so I think the real drama and tension is the constant tug and pull between the sitcom universe and the Marvel universe – and what was fun… what was really fun was uncovering how much we peel back in every episode.”

Olsen then explained that all the actors had all nine scripts when they started filming the show, adding that she “didn’t have to not really know” what was going on. However, she hinted that the story would take a sudden turn starting Episode 4.

“I think the reason why they show the press the first [three] episodes is because Episode 4 is quite a shift,” she added. “It’s a really fun perspective swap and I think a lot gets understood at that moment.”

Teyonah Parris, who is currently portraying a character named Geraldine, also teased an escalation in the remaining six episodes.

“Watching all of that unravel, and then come together later in the series, is going to be quite a ride,” Parris said to TV Line. “And I hope that you all tune in and ride this thing with us, because it will be well worth it. I know there are so many questions in the first couple of episodes, and just no answers, but we will get to it, I promise.”

The first three episodes of WandaVision are available on Disney+. The fourth one will debut on Friday, Jan. 29.
