Black Lightning Season 4 Trailer Hints at an Ending for Its Hero

“Black Lightning’s dead,” declares Jefferson Pierce of his heroic alter-ego in this new Black Lightning season 4 trailer. And we know, because The CW already announced it, that this will be the last season. The series began when Black Lightning came out of retirement as a superhero, so it’s fitting if it ends with him retiring again. But will he survive and keep his family together before he does?

Take a look at the trailer below.

With daughter Lightning also set to exit the show before the season ends, it’s hard not to fear for the worst for the Pierce family. But it’s safe to assume that one way or another, the battle between Black Lightning and arch-enemy Tobias Whale will reach its conclusion.

Per EW, the synopsis of the season premiere is as follows: “Jefferson Pierce is still mourning the death of his long-time friend Detective Henderson. Meanwhile, Gambi (James Remar) is presented with an interesting opportunity. Lastly, Lynn (Christine Adams) and Jefferson are still not able to see eye to eye.” We’ll find out on Feb. 8th what that all means.
