Actress Jodie Whittaker will ride the TARDIS once again as the Thirteenth Doctor in the upcoming Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks special. The episode will also mark the departure of two of the series’ main pillars in recent years as Bradley Walsh and Tosin Cole recently confirmed their exit from Doctor Who. The announcement left many people sad, including Whittaker, who opened up about her co-stars leaving while talking with EW.
“I know that in my life, this is one of the best things that will ever happen to me and the best times that I will ever have on set,” she said. “This job is this thing that is untouchable. There’ll be a million other amazing experiences, hopefully. But if I do this for 20 seasons I know my first time as the Doctor was with this family as this four and this is our time — a Goonies moment, it’s our time! I felt very much like a kid in a well. I was so sad.”
Twenty seasons would certainly eclipse Tom Baker’s previous record of seven years.

Whittaker is set to reprise her role in the upcoming Season 13. And even though fans will have to say goodbye to Graham O’Brien and Ryan Sinclair, the forthcoming season will see Mandip Gill return as Yasmin Khan. But when Whittaker was asked more specifically about her time on the series, she kept it vague.
“As far as I’m concerned, right now, I’m the Doctor and that’s taking up everything of me, as an actor,” she added. “And to think something beyond that, I can’t put my head there, and I don’t want to.”
Revolution of the Daleks will debut on BBC America at 8 p.m. EST on New Year’s Day.
