Fans are about to see how Lyra’s and Will’s current journey will end as the last episode in His Dark Materials Season 2 will debut stateside next Monday. The latest installment saw Mrs. Coulter arriving at the once-thriving Cittàgazze. She’s searching for the young protagonists, who have recently recovered the subtle knife, also known as Æsahættr. Lyra’s mother brilliantly passed the specters as she suppressed her humanity. She even went as far as poisoning Lord Boreal, whom she saw as an obstacle to her ambitions. In the meantime, Lyra and Will had a lot on their plate as they clashed with Paola and Angelica.
HBO has now released a brand new promo for the upcoming His Dark Materials Season 2 finale. It features Lyra dealing with her past errors, the clash between Lee Scoresby, Stanislaus Grumman, and the Magisterium, and much more. You can watch it in the player below.

Jamie Childs directed the episode written by Jack Thorne. The official synopsis of “Æsahættr” reads:
“As all paths converge on Cittàgazze, Lee is determined to fulfil his quest, whatever the cost. Mrs Coulter’s question is answered, and Will takes on his father’s mantle.”
His Dark Materials Season 2 finale will air on HBO and HBO Max on Dec. 28.
