Most fans are eager to see Robert Pattinson’s interpretation of the Dark Knight in the upcoming Matt Reeves Batman film. Way before that, most of them will see the English actor in his role in previous Batman director Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. In a recent interview with The Irish Times, the actor revealed that he did his audition while shooting Tenet, and he also tried to lie to Nolan about it.
“It’s funny because Chris is so secretive about everything to do with his movies,” he said. “And then I had to be really secretive about Batman stuff. So I had to lie to Chris about having to go for a screen test – I said I had a family emergency. And as soon as I said ‘it’s a family emergency’ he said: ‘You’re doing the Batman addition, aren’t you?'”
Nolan knows a thing or two about Gotham’s masked vigilante, given that his Dark Knight trilogy is one of the most successful comic-book adaptations ever.

Pattinson’s words may also imply that he lied about his Batman workouts as well. A few months ago, the actor said that he wasn’t exercising. In the Times article, he claims, “The maximum workout I do most of the time is a casual stroll.” He was probably kidding — even in Twilight he exercised harder than that. Still, many fans worry about seeing a skinny Bruce Wayne on the big screen. As opposed to the recent bulked interpretations of Christian Bale and Ben Affleck.
The Batman will hit theaters on October 1, 2021.
