With only two episodes left in Batwoman Season 1, a new villain is going to make his debut in this version of Gotham. Before the season’s grand finale, Kate Kane will have to lock horns with one of Batman‘s enemies, Hush. The show is now introducing the character of Tommy Elliot, after announcing him during the Batwoman panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
In the comics, Hush made his first appearance in a 12-part Batman storyline in the pages of Batman #608–619. Written by Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Heroes) with art by Jim Lee, the story featured a mysterious bandaged villain. Named Hush, he sabotaged The Dark Knight, and turned out to be a key figure from Bruce Wayne’s past. Hush is also the antagonist of the recent Batman: Hush animated movie. In that universe, Hush’s alter-ego is Edward Nygma and not Tommy Elliot. The twist offered new surprises, but was not as well received by fans.

Greg Beeman directed the episode written by Jerry Shandy and Kelly Larson. The official synopsis of “A Secret Kept From All the Rest” reads as follows:
“When members of Gotham’s intelligentsia begin disappearing, Commander Kane (Dougray Scott), Sophie (Meagan Tandy) and the Crows go searching for the newest homicidal threat to the city. In the meantime, Kate (Ruby Rose) is consumed with someone’s betrayal and starts questioning the loyalty of everyone around her just when she needs them most. So when Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Julia (guest star Christina Wolfe) go missing, Batwoman must rely on Mary (Nicole Kang) and a former foe to deploy her rescue mission. Meanwhile, Alice (Rachel Skarsten) enlists Tommy Elliot (guest star Gabriel Mann) to help acquire an elusive item that her sister also seeks.”
