Get ready for a new and exciting adaptation of one of the Arthurian legends. This summer, Slumdog Millionaire‘s Dev Patel wears his shiny armor in bringing Sir Gawain to the big screen. King Arthur’s nephew is taking on the Green Knight, in the ultimate test to prove his valor. Judging by The Green Knight trailer, Sir Gawain will have to face a lot of perils on his path to greatness. But honor is everything, and nothing will stop Sir Gawain from proving he is King Arthur’s worthy successor.

The official synopsis of The Green Knight reads as follows:
“An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.”
The Green Knight was written and directed by David Lowery (Pete’s Dragon). The cast features Dev Patel, Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, Ralph Ineson, as well as Alicia Vikander and Sean Harris.
