Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Will Open in 2021 at Walt Disney World Resort

Once again, it seems like Disney wants to go big. The last weeks have been full of exciting news for Star Wars fans and surprises are not over yet. Last summer, Disney announced that the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will soon feature a new Star Wars vacation experience. Now, the Disney Parks blog has announced that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will debut in 2021.

Fans will get the chance to enter a Starcruiser Terminal where they will board an “exclusive launch pod” which will bring them to live a two-night adventure aboard a starship called The Halcyon. Once onboard, fans will become active participants in stories that unfold around them 24/7 on their galactic journey.

The itinerary will include also a “spaceport of call” to Black Spire Outpost on planet Batuu, i.e. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Special passenger transports will take the fans to explore the 14-acre land as one of the last stops before Wild Space.

The announcement includes the attraction’s new website, full of juicy details of the upcoming experience. Besides discovering the inner workings of a ship’s systems, the guests will be able to operate the ship’s navigation and defense system. It seems like there will be trouble coming. And yes, guests will also wield a lightsaber. Most likely, Star Wars fans will line up to try this full-immersive experience.
