Smallville’s Erica Durance Will Play Lois Lane in Crisis on Infinite Earths

Earlier this week, Crisis on Infinite Earths lined up its third Superman/Clark Kent when Smallville star Tom Welling agreed to reprise his role. But Welling isn’t the only Smallville veteran coming back for the crossover event. Deadline is reporting that Erica Durance has been signed to reprise her role as Lois Lane alongside Welling’s Clark Kent. And it won’t be for just a cameo. Durance is slated to recur during the five episode storyline.

Although Deadline notes that the producers don’t intend to bring back multiple Lois Lanes like Teri Hatcher, Durance is the second Lois in the event. Elizabeth Tulloch made her Arrowverse debut as Lois during last year’s Elseworlds crossover. Tulloch’s Lois and her Superman, Tyler Hoechlin, will both be back. Brandon Routh will also be playing an incarnation of Superman.

Like Routh, Durance already had a role in the Arrowverse. She had a recurring role as Alura Zor-El on Supergirl. According to Deadline, Crisis will reveal where Durance and Welling’s Lois and Clark have been doing since the end of Smallville. Clark and Lois’ wedding was disrupted in the series finale, and it’s unknown if they officially got married in the interim.

Supergirl will kick off Crisis on Infinite Earths on Sunday, December 8. The second part will unfold in Batwoman on Monday, December 9. Meanwhile, The Flash will feature the third part on Tuesday, December 10. Then on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will wrap up the crossover.
