Marvel has already confirmed that they will shoot Love and Thunder at the Disney-owned Fox Studios Australia in Sydney after Waititi wraps his soccer movie Next Goal Wins. Meanwhile, The filmmaker is preparing to release his anti-hate satire Jojo Rabbit in theaters later this year.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be directed by Waititi which will be a followup to his wildly successful 2017 sequel Thor: Ragnarok. Natalie Portman is set to return as Jane Foster and will take on the mantle of The Mighty Thor. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will also return as Thor and Valkyrie, respectively. The female Thor storyline is based on Jason Aaron’s run on “The Mighty Thor” in which a cancer-stricken Jane Foster takes up the mantle and powers of Thor.

Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to be released on November 5, 2021.
