Brian K. Vaughan Offers an Update on the Y: The Last Man TV Series

He’s always been one of the comic industry’s most engaging writers, but Brian K. Vaughan’s work has only just begun to make a splash on TV. Hulu’s Runaways has been a big hit since it debuted in 2017. And just last month, Amazon greenlit a show based on his recently-concluded Paper Girls series. However, most of his fans are wondering when we’ll see an adaptation of Y: The Last Man, which many consider to be his magnum opus.

A Y: The Last Man TV show has been in development for quite some time. The cast was assembled last summer and FX ordered the project to series earlier this year. Although a recent showrunner change may have caused some fans to worry, Vaughan is here to quash any doubts. The writer took to his Instagram account earlier today to confirm that the series is still targeting a 2020 premiere date. You can read what else he had to say below.

Back in June, it was reported that Eliza Clark would take over as showrunner from Aida Mashaki Croal and Michael Green. In spite of this shakeup, the series will keep its previously announced cast of Barry Koeoghan (Yorick Brown), Diane Lane (Jennifer Brown), Lashana Lynch (Agent 355), and more.
