Nico Tortorella Joins The Walking Dead’s Second Spin-Off Series Cast

The cast of AMC’s third Walking Dead series has a new entry. According to a report by DeadlineYounger star Nico Tortorella will play a lead role in the upcoming The Walking Dead‘s second spin-off series. Tortorella will play Felix, described as “an honorable man of his word who isn’t afraid to fight for others’ safety and acceptance.” The actor identifies as non-binary, and they are a strong advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights.

Tortorella will continue to play Josh on Younger, as the TV Land comedy’s schedule apparently won’t interfere. Their previous credits include Menendez: Blood Brothers, The Following and The Beautiful Life.

Tortorella joins a cast which will feature two female leads, Aliyah Royale (who plays a character called Iris) and Annet Mahendru (Huck). Additionally, the cast sees Alexa Mansour (Hope), Nicolas Cantu (Elton) and Hal Cumpston (Silas). The show features The Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple and producer Matt Negrete as showrunners. Additionally, Kong: Skull Island’s Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct the show.

The untitled third series is now filming in Richmond, Virginia. The show promises to give fans a look into the first generation of children that have grown up during the zombie apocalypse. According to an official synopsis, “Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever.”
