Exclusive Preview: Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #3

A Batman crossover isn’t too unusual. After all, he may be the king of the comic book crossover! But the Dark Knight’s crossovers with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are different. Batman actually likes the Turtles, and he’s bonded with them. However, they now live in a combined world in which Bruce Wayne was raised by Master Splinter alongside his adoptive Turtle brothers: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo!

James Tynion IV and artist Freddie Williams II have reunited for Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, a new crossover event. It’s a Crisis in a Half Shell! They didn’t even realize it until the original Raphael came to their world. And we’re talking OG black and white Raphael, as drawn by Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for the third issue, we see a flashback to the fateful day that Bruce was orphaned and his pet turtles were mutated. But in the present, Bruce has to accept that this world isn’t his own if they’re gonna have a chance of stopping Krang.

Here’s the official description from DC and IDW: “The origin of Batman…together with the origin of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? The stories are familiar, but through the prism of this altered reality, clearly not the same. An uneasy feeling sets in that everything is not what it seems. But the Laughing Man pays a visit to a familiar Turtles ally to make sure this world stays exactly as Krang has remade it.”

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #3 will hit comic shops on Wednesday, July 3. Let us know what you think in the comment section below!
