There’s good news for the fans of DC’s big-screen supervillain team. Joel Kinnaman has just revealed that he will reprise his character in the upcoming sequel The Suicide Squad. Kinnaman is getting ready to step once again into the boots of Rick Flag, whom he played in 2016’s Suicide Squad. The 39-year-old actor took up to Instagram to reveal that he is “easing into that squad preppppp.” Check Kinnaman’s full post out below.
James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad originally would have been a total reboot of the DC project. Eventually, Warner Bros. undertook a different path and the project will serve as a “relaunch” of the franchise. One of the major changes is that Will Smith won’t return as Deadshot due to scheduling conflicts.

WWE Superstar John Cena has also joined the cast of the movie in an as-of-yet unnamed role.
The Suicide Squad is scheduled to be released on August 6, 2021. Are you happy for Joel Kinnaman’s return as Rick Flag? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
