Michael Rooker is not going to appear as King Shark (or any other character) in the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel, according to Michael Rooker. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor took to Instagram to post a screencap of last week’s report suggesting he would be in the film, which he replied in the caption “DA………..NOT!!!” He later added in the comments “This is not true news… I am not cast in this movie…….,” seemingly settling all doubt about his possible involvement. James Gunn even chimed in on Rooker’s post, simply saying “haha.”
Rooker’s rumored casting made the rounds last week after it was reported that he was in talks for the role. Given that Gunn, who cast Rooker as Yondu in the first two Guardians films, was helming the movie, it seemed like a viable possibility. Now, it seems Rooker will not be appearing in the sequel. He will, however, have a role in the Gunn-produced Brightburn, which hits theaters May 24.

Idris Elba will take on a new character in the leading role with David Dastmalchian playing Polka-Dot Man and Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher.
