James McAvoy Would Like To Play The Riddler After Professor X

James McAvoy’s days as Charles Xavier may be over, but has has a desire to play another comic book character in the future. In an Instagram Live video, the actor revealed that he would like to play the DC Comics villain the Riddler, should he join the DC Universe one day. In the past, the Riddler was portrayed by Jim Carrey in 1995’s Batman Forever. Now, McAvoy would like to give life to one of Batman’s more recognized villains too.

I always liked him when I was growing up,” McAvoy said. “That would be cool. I always thought DC does really good bad guys.

James McAvoy has portrayed Professor X for near a decade, after first appearing in 2011’s X-Men: First Class. Now, he will play Charles Xavier one more time in the upcoming Dark Phoenix, which will likely be the last in that series of films since Marvel Studios will seemingly recast the X-Men characters.
