Ralph Fiennes Interested In Playing Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman

Fans already know that Ben Affleck has hung up his cape, as Matt Reeves wants a younger actor for The Batman. Should the director consider a new replacement for Alfred Pennyworth too, actor Ralph Fiennes says he’s ready to take the challenge.

The British actor spoke with HeyUGuys while promoting his film The White Crow, and he showed his willingness in playing the Caped Crusader’s loyal butler.

A lot of good people have gone before me, Fiennes said. I’d be happy to follow in their footsteps!

Jeremy Irons portrayed Batman’s butler in the previous movies of the DCEU, but it remains to be seen if he will reprise his role once again.

Fiennes already has a history with playing the character character, having voiced him in The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

Matt Reeves recently spoke about his plans for the film saying “it’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale”.

The Batman flies into theaters on June 25, 2021. Would you like to see Ralph Fiennes playing Alfred Pennyworth in the live action movie? Shine a Bat-light on your thoughts in the comments section below.
