First Look: WWE Superstar Undertaker Gets His Own Graphic Novel

Boom! Studios has given us our first look at the upcoming original graphic novel, WWE: Undertaker.

WWE: Undertaker will showcase the career of one of the most iconic superstars in WWE history in glorious and haunting fashion. Written by Chad Dundas and illustrated by Rodrigo Lorenzo, this ambitious graphic novel will give fans an inside look into the Undertaker’s life including some never-before-seen surprises and revelations. His unrivaled 25 year history in WWE makes him a fantastic character to headline a graphic novel. It also continues Boom! Studios and WWE’s outreach to both comic readers and wrestling fans.

“There’s no one more awe inspiring in WWE than The Undertaker and this original graphic novel shows us how he became the unstoppable Phenom,” said Boom! Studios editor Chris Rosa. “From his childhood, up and down relationships with Paul Bearer and Kane, and his meteoric rise to the top of WWE, WWE: Undertaker will show you a side of the Dead Man’s story that you’ve never seen before.”

With his horror-themed  imagery and claimed links to the supernatural, The Undertaker’s fantastic lore really lends itself to the comic medium. In 2013, a Digital Spy poll voted him the greatest WWE wrestler of all time, and you’d be hard pressed to find a fan who disagrees.

This comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Boom! Studios will be taking over publishing rights for Buffy The Vampire Slayer in 2019. Buffy will be joining other titles like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Planet of the Apes, and Firefly.

WWE:  Undertaker will be released on Wednesday, October 31 at your local comic shop. Then it will arrive in bookstores and digitally outlets on November 6. You can check out some of the beautiful artwork and a look inside the graphic novel by using the gallery below.
