Jon Favreau to Voice an ‘Important Alien Character’ in Solo: A Star Wars Story

Director Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) has landed Jon Favreau (Avengers: Infinity War) in a voice acting role for his highly-anticipated movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Howard announced the news on his Twitter, sharing a picture of the two men and explaining Favreau had taken time from his directing duties (he is currently working on the CGI and live-action re-imaging of The Lion King) to voice a “very cool & important alien character” for the new Solo movie.

Jon Favreau is well-known for his acting in a variety of roles, particularly his Marvel character Happy Hogan, but he is also an award-winning and heavily-nominated director, writer, and producer. He was initially an indie film favorite who has progressed to strong mainstream visibility, not only entertaining fans onscreen but behind the scenes as well.

In Solo: A Star Wars Story, prepare to board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in this all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

Solo: A Star Wars Story features Hail, Caesar’s Alden Ehrenreich as Han, with Atlanta’s Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and The Force Awakens’ Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. Woody Harrelson is playing Han’s mentor, a man by the name of Beckett, while Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, Westworld’s Thandie Newton, Avengers’ Paul Bettany, and Fleabag’s Phoebe-Waller Bridge also star.
