Riverdale Midseason Finale Trailer: Showdown with the Black Hood

Following last night’s episode of the series, The CW has released the first trailer for the Riverdale midseason finale! Check it out in the player below and look at the brand new photos from the episode in the gallery.

Titled “Chapter Twenty-Two: Silent Night, Deadly Night” (further continuing the show’s trend of naming its episode after horror movies this season), the episode is set to air Wednesday, December 13 on The CW. It is officially described as follows:

“After snooping around for Christmas gifts, Veronica (Camila Mendes) uncovers a major secret Hiram (Mark Consuelos) has been keeping from her. Fallout from Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) encounter with Penny Peabody (guest star Brit Morgan) creates tension between him and FP (Skeet Ulrich.) Meanwhile, a defiant Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) takes matters into her own hands after Penelope (guest star Nathalie Boltt) tells her they cannot afford Christmas this year. Finally, Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Archie’s (KJ Apa) vow to take down the Black Hood once and for all leads to a dangerous showdown. Marisol Nichols, Madchen Amick, Luke Perry, Ashleigh Murray and Casey Cott also star.”

Rob Seidenglanz directed the episode, which was written by Shepard Boucher.

KJ Apa stars as Archie Andrews in the series along with Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones and Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom.

Based on the characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale hails from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater.
