The DC Comics April 2017 solicitations include “The Button,” a four-part tale that plays out in Batman and The Flash #21 and 22 and continues the major tease we saw at the end of Rebirth #0.

“Courtesy of the Batman team of writer Tom King and artist Jason Fabok,” reads the official synopsis for the event, “along with The Flash writer Joshua Williamson and artist Howard Porter, the two greatest detectives in the DC Universe unite to unravel the mystery behind a certain blood stained smiley face button stuck in the Batcave wall. However, what begins as a simple investigation soon turns deadly when the secrets of the button prove irresistible to an unwelcome third party – and it’s not who anyone suspects! This is a mystery woven throughout time, and the countdown starts here!”

The month also has another exciting pairing for the Dark Knight as a new book teams Batman with The Shadow.

“Batman is a myth that transcends the comic book page and inspires us to achieve, while The Shadow is the cornerstone of so much of the pop culture and comics we see today,” explains Steve Orlando, who is co-writing the book with Scott Snyder. “To bring together the World’s Greatest Detective and the World’s Greatest Mystery is an honor. ‘Batman/The Shadow’ will pay tribute to legacies in comics and pulp fiction, as the two characters meet in a generations-deep conflict unlike any they’ve seen before, with a case that stretches back to the origins of time, and will redefine murder.”

You can also check out the DC Comics March  2017 solicitations from last month and check back tomorrow, January 24, to see what surprises April will be bringing from Marvel Comics.
