Jessica Jones Star Cast as Human Target on Arrow

TVLine brings word that Marvel’s Jessica Jones co-star Wil Traval (Will Simpson/Nuke) has joined the distinguished competition by landing the role of the Human Target, aka Christopher Chance, on Arrow. The character’s notoriety comes from taking on the identities of people targeted by assassins and he’ll assume the mantle of Oliver Queen in the fifth episode of the new season.

The original Human Target first appeared in 1953’s Detective Comics #201 with Chance making his debut in 1972’s Action Comics #419. He has previously lead his own TV series not once, but twice, with both a 1992 adaptation staring musician Rick Springfield and a 2010 adaptation starring Mark Valley.

Newly-appointed Mayor Oliver Queen finds himself challenged as he fights on two fronts for the future of Star City. With Diggle back in the military and Thea adamant about hanging up her hood as Speedy, Team Green Arrow is down to just Oliver and Felicity – but they’re no longer the only vigilantes in town. Green Arrow’s public defeat of Damien Darhk at the end of Season Four has inspired a new crop of masked heroes to step up and defend the city, though their painful inexperience makes them obstacles, rather than allies, in the field. The arrival of a deadly new adversary will force Oliver to confront questions about his own legacy, both as mayor and as the Green Arrow.

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter.

The guest stars for Arrow Season 5 continues to grow and currently includes Rick Gonzalez (Rush, Mr. Robot) as Wild Dog, Josh Segarra as Vigilante, Madison McLaughli as Evelyn Sharp, The Walking Dead star Chad L. Coleman in the villain role of Tobias Church, and Joe Dinicol as mystical vigilante Ragman.
