Maisie Richardson-Sellers will play the grandmother of Megalyn Echikunwoke’s Vixen
The CW‘s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has cast their new Vixen. Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who appeared briefly in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will play Amaya Jiwe, the grandmother of Megalyn Echikunwoke‘s Mari McCabe on season two of the time-traveling superhero series. It appears that Jiwe will have the same animal powers and will also fight for good under the Vixen moniker.
In the closing minutes of the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season one finale, the team is preparing to enter their time-traveling ship, The Waverider, when another Waverider appears in the sky above them and crashes to the ground. A lone survivor exits from the wreckage, making the claim that if they got on that ship they’d all die and that he was sent back by Heat Wave himself, Mick Rory. That mystery man reveals himself as Rex Tyler (the superhero Hourman), a member of the Justice Society of America.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The ATOM, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Victor Garber and Franz Drameh as Professor Martin Stein & Jefferson “Jax” Jackson/Firestorm, and Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave. Wentworth Miller, who plays Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, will no longer appear as a series regular on the show but has instead signed a new deal with Warner Bros. TV allowing him to appear across all of their DC series on The CW.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer, Chris Fedak and Sarah Schechter.
