Following the first images that were released last night (view below in the gallery), Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first poster for David Yates’ upcoming The Legend of Tarzan! Check out The Legend of Tarzan poster in the gallery below!

In The Legend of Tarzan, it has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

The Legend of Tarzan cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson and Djimon Hounsou.

Tarzan made his first appearance in Edgar Rice Burroughs’ 1912 novel Tarzan of the Apes. The jungle hero would go to be the focus of an additional 23 novels by the author. In the century since the character’s inception, Tarzan has been adapted into just about every medium, including dozens of different feature film iterations.

Director David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter films, has himself already returned to the Wizarding World. He’s directing the upcoming spinoff series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Look for that film just a few months after The Legend of Tarzan. The jungle adventure hits theaters July 1, 2016 with Beasts following on November 18, 2018.
