Arnold Schwarzenegger Video: The Star Chats with SHH About Terminator Genisys

Watch our exclusive Arnold Schwarzenegger video interview about his return in Terminator Genisys!

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back as the T-800 in this week’s Terminator Genisys, a return to the feature film franchise started in 1984 with James Cameron’s original The Terminator. Directed by Game of Thrones and Thor: The Dark World helmer Alan Taylor, the new film stars Emilia Clarke as a very different Sarah Connor who has actually been raised to fight by Schwarzenegger’s T-800, mysteriously sent back in time to watch over her.

In the film, when John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…

In the player below, you can check out our Arnold Schwarzenegger video interview wherein the star chats with ComingSoon.net about returning to the franchise for the first time since 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Schwarzenegger also talks about how he keeps the franchise’s many timelines in check and his now-available promotion with Waze, which has him (not entirely unlike Skynet itself) lending his voice to the popular navigation app.

If you missed them earlier this week, be sure to check out our previous Terminator Genisys interviews with Emilia Clarke and with Jai Courtney and Jason Clarke. Check back soon, too, because we’ve got one more video on the way wherein the entire cast answers the question, “What’s next for the ‘Terminator’ franchise?”

Also starring J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Matthew Smith, Courtney B. Vance and Byung-Hun Lee, Terminator Genisys features a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier and is now showing in theaters.
