Where does an 800 pound gorilla sit? Anywhere he wants. In the case of “The Flash’s” own simian foe, Grodd, that just happens to be next Tuesday night on The CW at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Anticipated by fans since his tease in the pilot, Grodd is finally getting his own full episode and, in the player below, you can check out a new trailer that proves from the very first scene that things are about to change in Central City.
Episode 1.20, “Grodd Lives,” is set to air May 5. Written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing and directed by Doug Aarniokoski, the official synopsis reads as follows:
“Barry (Grant Gustin) must deal with the Reverse Flash’s (Tom Cavanagh) latest threat to a member of the group. To make matter worse, Dr. Wells unleashes Grodd on the city in order to distract Barry and the team. Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) head down into the sewers to catch Grodd but the gorilla quickly gets the upper hand after he kidnaps Joe. Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry have a heart to heart talk.”
Then, one week after that, we’re getting the superhero and supervillain showdown, “Rogue Air,” set to feature not only the return of Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen, but also of Robbie Amell’s Firestorm and quite a few of The Flash’s previously-apprehended villains. Written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing and directed by Doug Aarniokoski, it is described as follows:
“As Wells (Tom Cavanagh) once again gets the upper hand on the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes he needs to make a big move and reaches out to an old foe, Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), for help. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) warn Barry that Cold can’t be trusted. True to form, Cold has his own agenda that involves the meta-humans trapped in the containment cells. As things seem to be going from bad to worse, The Flash gets reinforcements – Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) and Firestorm (guest star Robbie Amell).”
