Fans of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s hit comic book series “Powers” are in for a treat today as EW has just revealed seven new stills from the upcoming PlayStation Network adaptation. Check them all out in the gallery viewer below, including our first look at Michelle Forbes (“The Killing,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation”) as Retro Girl.
“Powers,” written by Bendis and drawn by Oeming, follows two detectives as they investigate superhero-related homicides. The series launched in 2004 through Image Comics and is now published by Marvel’s Icon imprint.
The series stars Sharlto Copley (District 9, Maleficent) as Detective Christian Walker and Susan Heyward (“The Following,” Poltergeist) as Detective Deena Pilgrim. They’re also joined by Max Fowler (“The Killing,” Rage), Adam Godley (“Breaking Bad”, “Manhattan”) Noah Taylor (“Game of Thrones,” “Peaky Blinders”), Olesya Rulin (“High School Musical,” “Greek”) and Eddie Izzard (Cars 2, “Hannibal”).
Charlie Huston wrote the first episode and serves as showrunner with Remi Aubuchon. 30 Days of Night and “Hannibal” director David Slade will helm the first two episodes of the series.
A television version of “Powers” was in the world some years back with “Journeyman” creator Kevin Falls drafting a never-released pilot that starred Lucy Punch and Jason Patric as Detectives Pilgrim and Walker.
