Deadline reports that Twentieth Century Fox has picked up the rights to the Boom! Studios title “The Foundation,” which has Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles scribe Evan Daugherty set to pen the screenplay. Created by Kody Chamberlain, the 2008 series lasted five issues and was written by John Rozum with art by Chee. It’s officially described as follows:
“History shows that in the 1500s, Nostradamus’ three volumes of prophecies were best-sellers, making him a rich man. But what the world doesn’t know is that he used his vast treasure-trove of riches to create a foundation to prevent his most catastrophic prophesies from occurring! This secret team still functions today, using Nostradamus’ published and unpublished tomes to predict threats to worldwide security.”
“The Foundation” arrives as the second film optioned by the studio following the announcement of their first look deal with the comics publisher, James Wan’s “Malignant Man” being the first. It does, however, mark the third Boom! Studios feature adaptation from Fox, including last year’s 2 Guns, starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, which grossed over $130 million at the global box office.
