Last week, Marvel Studios surprised us all and dated five new films ranging all the way to 2019. Now, just announced at their Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel has confirmed that one of these dates, July 28, 2017, belongs to Guardians of the Galaxy 2! James Gunn even took to Twitter following the announcement to reveal that he will return to pen the screenplay and direct the film.

The first Guardians of the Galaxy film however opens next Friday, August 1, and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro.
