Ben Kingsley Further Teases His ‘Secret Marvel Project’

Last week brought word from Sir Ben Kingsley that he is working on a new “secret project” for Marvel, which we originally thought was a new “One-Shot” short film like Item 47 and Agent Carter. Then we got the rumor this week that the short would involve “the real Mandarin” confronting Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery, which was quickly dismissed by Iron Man 3 screenwriter Drew Pearce, saying: “One thing I know for sure: nobody’s going to be apologizing for the Mandarin twist any time soon.”

Now, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Kingsley is once again teasing the project. Though he said he “can’t confirm” the “Real Mandarin” rumor, it does seem like he’s saying it is in fact a new “Marvel One-Shot.”

“I think it may be seen as . . . sometimes [Marvel] tacks on a short film to one of their other releases, maybe on a DVD or something. I haven’t heard anything at all about this. So it’s in progress. It will have to remain under wraps. Marvel was so brilliant in the way they kept the transition from the Mandarin to Trevor Slattery in Iron Man 3. They were absolutely brilliant at it. I so respect the way they dearly want to surprise their audiences. But we will just have to leave it in the realm of rumor.”

What do you think the “One-Shot” should be about? Sound off below!
