Relativity Media No Longer Making a Stretch Armstrong Movie

“Stretch Armstrong is an incredible character who will make an amazing movie, and we know that Hasbro has some new ideas they are looking at,” Relativity said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter. “Relativity and Hasbro have a tremendous relationship, and we decided to focus on other projects. We look forward to continuing to work together.”

Stretch Armstrong is the classic action hero figure first launched by Hasbro in 1976 and re-launched in the ’90s, sold successfully throughout North America and in markets across the world. The original Stretch’s unique design broke free of traditional action figures, as he could be stretched over and over and always returned back to his original size. The nostalgic toy is considered to be rare and collectible to this day.

Back in 2008, Hasbro teamed up with Universal to make a movie and attached Taylor Lautner to star. That project also didn’t take off.
