We’ve Cracked The Amazing Spider-Man’s Viral Message!

It’s been over two months since the viral marketing for The Amazing Spider-Man led to Peter Parker’s backpack turning up at different locations across the country. Today, the viral website MarkoftheSpider-Man.com updated with their own photos of Mr. Parker’s bookbag in a new section called Baggage Claim. Here, though, Peter’s notebook has two pages that didn’t appear before, revealing a cypher made of different spider designs.

SuperHeroHype is proud to report that we’ve just managed to crack the code. The question is now, “where will the message take us?”. As you can see below, the spiders read:

SOMETIMES THE FACE IN THE
MIRROR DOES NOT EVEN LOOK LIKE ME
ONE MINUTE I AM ACING MY MIDTERMS
THE NEXT I AM IN FISTFIGHTS
I HAVE MADE EVERY MISTAKE A
TEENAGER COULD MAKE BELIEVE ME I
WISH I COULD TAKE BACK MY WORST
DECISIONS BUT I CANNOT LIVE IN THE
PAST INSTEAD I MUST BECOME THE BEST
VERSION OF MYSELF I WILL SUCCEED

The film, meanwhile, is set for release on July 3rd and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field. Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man arrives with a screenplay written by James Vanderbilt, based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

UPDATE: Further clues have led to the discovery of a new viral website, www.parkerspov.com, which seems to be a photography blog updated by Peter Parker himself. Check out of the many images at the link which include this one featuring Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy as a member of the Midtown Science High debate club. The mystery seems to be getting deeper and the clues more numerous, so check back for details as they’re uncovered! (Thanks to the ARG players at the Unfiction forums for their continued help in deciphering the viral!)
