The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that The Dark Knight Rises will film at Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The scene is for the previously-revealed football game between the Gotham Rogues and Rapid City Monuments:
Here we go Gotham Rogues, here we go.
It doesn't quite have the same cadence as "Here we go, Steelers, here we go," but when fans file into Heinz Field on Aug. 6, it will be for a football game between the Rogues and rival Rapid City Monuments being staged for "The Dark Knight Rises."
The Steelers confirmed the stadium will double as a location for the Batman movie being filmed here starting in late July by director Christopher Nolan.
The one-day filming is scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is open to anyone 14 years old and up, but anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
These extras will be unpaid but eligible to win prizes such as a large, flat-screen TV, celebrity and sports autographs, "Dark Knight" and Steelers items, vintage comics, DVDs and gift cards.
Advance reservations through the website BeInAMovie.com are required. In the event of rain, filming could be rescheduled and participants will be notified.
The anticipated movie hits theaters on July 20, 2012.
