We all know that Scarlett Johansson is playing Black Widow in Iron Man 2, opening in May, but what happened to David Hayter’s script for Lionsgate that was meant to be a solo movie featuring the character? The project was announced in 2004 but was later dropped by the studio.
Latino Review found quotes from Hayter (Watchmen, X2, X-Men) talking about the project in the book “Tales From the Script: 50 Hollywood Screenwriters Share Their Stories.” It’s interesting to hear what he has to say and a bit shocking how long he worked on the script that was just completely dropped. He even named his daughter Natasha!
