Florence Pugh is opening up about some of the stunt work she did while filming Thunderbolts*.

Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* will be released in United States theaters next month. The cast of the MCU movie includes Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry, Geraldine Viswanathan as Mel, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

What did Florence Pugh say about jumping off the second-tallest building in the world while filming Thunderbolts*?

Speaking with Fandango’s Mark Ellis, the cast of Thunderbolts* was asked who had the toughest challenge pulling off the stunts when filming the movie.

“I got on all the emails,” Pugh said. “Because it was in the script, and, then, slowly, as we got closer and closer to shooting, they were like, ‘Yeah, we don’t think it’s going to happen, it’s going to be a crazy insurance ordeal and obviously we’re not going to throw FP off the second-tallest building in the world.’ And I was like, ‘What the f—, of course we are. We have to do that.’ So I was being a sassy Karen, emailing Kevin [Feige] being like, ‘Kevin, this is going to do wonders for the press tour, we have to do this.’

I was like, ‘We’re going to have three women break three different Guinness World Book records, we need to do this this this.’ I just had to keep pushing and they were like, ‘Okay, if you want to fall off the second-tallest building in the world, we’ll figure that out for you.’ I don’t mind heights, I quite like them, I enjoy them, but that was a whole different ballgame. That was insane. The mental control I had to do that today, that was its own superpower.”

The second-tallest building in the world is Malaysia’s Merdeka 118, which stands approximately 678.9 meters (2,227 feet) high. Marvel recently released a featurette video showcasing Pugh’s stunt, which can be viewed below:

Thunderbolts* will be released in United States theaters on May 2, 2025.
