Tom Holland says that Spider-Man 4, now titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will be a “fresh start” following the Spider-Man: No Way Home ending.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to hit United States theaters in July 2026, meaning it will be released between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Holland is reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, while Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink has been cast in an undisclosed role.

What did Tom Holland say about Spider-Man 4?

On Monday, March 31, 2025, it was revealed at CinemaCon that the official title of Spider-Man 4 is Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Per The Independent, Holland said about the movie in a video to CinemaCon attendees, “I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie. I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home ended with Holland’s Peter erasing himself from everyone’s memory in order to save the multiverse. This means that his closest friends, MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Leeds), have no idea who he is at this point in time, and Peter has yet to introduce himself to them.

Plot details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day remain under wraps at this time. The movie is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously made Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was released in 2021.

It’s also worth noting that Holland’s name was not included in the recent casting announcement for Avengers: Doomsday, meaning it’s unclear at this time whether or not he will show up for that MCU ensemble movie.

Spider-Man 4 will be released in United States theaters on July 31, 2026.
