The ceiling of a movie theater in Wenatchee, Washington, caved in earlier this week during a screening of Captain America: Brave New World, also known as Captain America 4. No injuries were reported, and Red Hulk was reportedly not in attendance.

Captain America: Brave New World is now playing in United States theaters. The MCU movie sees Anthony Mackie reprise his role as Sam Wilson/Captain America, while Harrison Ford plays Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross/Red Hulk.

What happened to the movie theater ceiling during the Captain America 4 showing?

Per Entertainment Weekly, an incident occurred in downtown Wenatchee on Tuesday night when the ceiling of a movie theater, Liberty Cinema, collapsed. Luckily, there were only two movie-goers in the theater at the time, and there were no injuries.

The Wenatchee Valley Firefighters’ Instagram account posted, “At approximately 8 PM, Wenatchee Valley firefighters responded to a reported ceiling collapse at Liberty Cinema. Two people were inside the theater at the time, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation. Talk about an interactive movie experience… just not the kind you want!”

Brian Brett, the chief of the Wenatchee Valley Fire Department, told the New York Times, “[The people in attendance] started to move away from what was falling from the ceiling. A very large section of framed-in area underneath the roof came loose and dropped into about the first three rows of seats in the old historic theater.”

Marvel‘s Captain America 4 also stars Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Shira Haas as Ruth-Bat Seraph, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Giancarlo Esposito as Seth Voelker/Sidewinder, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, and Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns.

The Marvel Studios movie is directed by Julius Onah. Having opened in theaters earlier this month, it has so far made approximately $295.5 million at the global box office.
