Sony Pictures has officially shared Kraven the Hunter‘s first 8 minutes, featuring Golden Globe winner Aaron Taylor-Johnson as he leads the R-rated Marvel movie. It is currently slated to arrive in theaters on December 13.
“Kraven the Hunter is the visceral, action-packed origin story of how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be,” reads the official synopsis. “Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff, starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.”

What happens in Kraven the Hunter’s first 8 minutes?
The video shows the titular Marvel villain arriving in a Russian prison, where his current target resides as a gang leader. It highlights one of the film’s thriller action sequences, showing Kraven escaping from the prison after completing his mission.
Kraven the Hunter is directed by Oscar nominee J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) from a screenplay co-written by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer films), Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum. The ensemble cast includes Taylor-Johnson as he takes on the mantle of the titular Spider-Man villain, a Russian immigrant named Sergei Kravinoff; Fred Hechinger (Fear Street Trilogy, The White Lotus) as Chameleon, Kraven’s half-brother; Oscar nominee Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) as Calypso, the occasion partner and lover of Kraven; and Russell Crowe and Levi Miller in undisclosed roles. Christopher Abbott and Alessandro Nivola have also been tapped as the main villains.
