Super/Man producer Robert Ford has shared some new details about the role that Christopher Reeve’s son, Will Reeve, will have in James Gunn’s Superman.
Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is a new documentary about the life of actor Christopher Reeve, who is best known for starring as Clark Kent in 1978’s Superman, 1980’s Superman II (along with the 2006 Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut), 1983’s Superman III, and 1987’s Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.
Gunn is now working on a new Superman movie, which will be set in his and Peter Safran’s forthcoming DCU, that will see David Corenswet play the Man of Steel.
It was previously confirmed that Will Reeve will make a cameo in Gunn’s Superman movie.
What did Robert Ford say about Christopher Reeve’s son and Gunn’s Superman?
Speaking with Film Updates, Ford said that Will Reeve only received one page of the script for Superman, meaning his role in the movie will be a small one.
“It’s going to be great because he looks so much like Chris. He’s very charismatic as well,” Ford said. “I don’t know much about it, but I know that they just sent him one page. He’s playing some sort of Clark Kent reporter type.”
Along with Corenswet and Reeve, Superman stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe.
Superman will be released in United States theaters on July 11, 2025.
