What happens in the Watchmen Chapter II trailer?
Following the events of Watchmen Chapter I, Rorschach has been unmasked, framed for murder, and thrown in prison. Dan Dreiberg/Nite Owl II and Laurie Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre II decide to break him out while, meanwhile, Doctor Manhattan is building a palace on Mars. Laurie eventually finds herself on Mars, too, which is where she and Doctor Manhattan have a conversation about Earth’s future.
The movie, per the official synopsis, sees “outlawed superheroes grapple with their personal lives and each other while racing the clock to solve a deepening mystery connected to an impending nuclear war between the United States and Russia.”
Brandon Vietti is once again directing Watchmen Chapter II after helming the first part. He also serves as a producer with Jim Krieg and Cindy Rago, while Sam Register, Larry Gordon, and Lloyd Levin serve as executive producers and Gibbons as a consulting producer. The screenplay was written by J. Michael Straczynski.
The film’s voice cast includes Matthew Rhys as Dan, Katee Sackhoff as Laurie, Titus Welliver as Rorschach, Troy Baker as Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias, Adrienne Barbeau as Sally Jupiter/Silk Spectre, and Michael Cerveris as Doctor Manhattan.
Watchmen Chapter II will be released on digital platforms on November 26, 2024. It then arrives on 4K UHD and Blu-ray on December 3, 2024.
Watchmen Chapter I is currently available to rent or purchase on platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and more.
