After releasing an array of sub-par projects in succession, the MCU now seems to be roaring back with the success of Deadpool & Wolverine. The entertainment juggernaut also has an interesting slate of movies that are scheduled to come out in the near future.
One such project is Spider-Man 4, which has yet to receive an official release date. With much speculation surrounding the film’s cast, actor Michael Keaton has come out to comment on his possible return as the Vulture in Spider-Man 4.
Michael Keaton says he’s clueless about Vulture’s return in MCU’s Spider-Man 4
In a recent discussion, the Beetlejuice star addressed the possibility of coming back to the MCU.
While talking to Screen Rant, Keaton responded to his supposed ties to the upcoming Spider-Man flick. Upon being questioned if he had talked to any Marvel executive about reprising his role, Keaton replied with a simple no.
“That’s an interesting character, that guy. Actually, I was there for a minute in the second one,” Keaton said while commenting on his portrayal of Vulture. “That really was fun [sic] experience, but I haven’t talked to anybody about anything. I try not to talk to anybody. I really don’t like people.”
Michael Keaton made his MCU debut as the villainous Vulture in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, he was subsequently transported to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe following the transversal events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Keaton once again donned his wings for 2022’s Morbius, where he was seen conversing with Jared Leto’s character in a post-credit scene. Since then, there has been no update on the Vulture’s return to the MCU.
Spider-Man 4 is widely expected to feature several Sony characters, including Venom, Knull, and possibly Morbius. As such, Keaton’s Adrian Toomes could be seen taking a flight back to the MCU in a similar fashion. Nonetheless, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has yet to officially divulge any plot details regarding Spider-Man 4.
