Shawn Levy Hints He’ll Likely Helm Another Marvel Project in the Future

Shawn Levy is hinting that he’ll probably helm another Marvel project at some point in the future.

Levy recently directed Marvel StudiosDeadpool & Wolverine, which is currently playing in United States theaters. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, and more.

Speaking with Variety, Levy was asked if he’d be open to directing another MCU movie at some point in the future.

“I don’t know what form my Marvel future will take, but I’m very confident Marvel and I aren’t done with each other,” he answered.

At one point, Levy was rumored to be in talks to direct an Avengers movie for Marvel; however, it was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, will be tackling Avengers: Doomsday (releasing in 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (releasing in 2027).

Whether or not the forthcoming Avengers movies reference the moment shown in Deadpool & Wolverine where Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is crying over a fallen Wade Wilson remains to be seen; however, Levy did note that he would “love to be part of answering that question someday.”

What other movies has Shawn Levy made besides Deadpool & Wolverine?

Apart from Deadpool & Wolverine, Levy also previously directed 2002’s Big Fat Liar, 2003’s Cheaper by the Dozen, 2006’s The Pink Panther, 2006’s Night at the Museum, 2009’s Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, 2010’s Date Night, 2011’s Real Steel, 2014’s Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, 2021’s Free Guy, 2022’s, and The Adam Project, among other projects.

While he’s also involved in the fifth and final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, Levy is now developing a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm. The film does not yet have an official release date at this time.
