Marvel Removes Mystery July 2026 Movie Off Schedule

Marvel has removed a mystery project from their 2026 film schedule.

An untitled Marvel Studios movie was originally scheduled to be released in United States theaters on July 24, 2026. This project has now, however, been removed from Disney’s release schedule.

There’s no word on what the project was going to be. It’s worth noting that the mystery film was originally going to be released shortly after Avengers: Doomsday (formerly known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty), which comes out on May 1, 2026.

What’s next for Marvel Studios?

Having recently released Deadpool & Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, the next Marvel movie will be Captain America: Brave New World. Directed by Julius Onah, the film sees Anthony Mackie reprise his role as Sam Wilson/Captain America while Harrison Ford, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Time Blake Nelson also star. The film will be released on February 14, 2025.

Following that, Thunderbolts* will arrive in United States theaters on May 2, 2025. Coming from director Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts* features Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, and Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster.

With Thunderbolts* being the last film in Phase 5 of the MCU, Phase 6 will include The Fantastic Four: First Steps (releasing on July 25, 2025), Blade (releasing November 7, 2025), Avengers: Doomsday (releasing May 1, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (releasing in May 2027).

Other planned MCU movies include Armor Wars, a Spider-Man: No Way Home sequel, a Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings sequel, and an X-Men movie.

Regarding Marvel Studios’ television series, Agatha All Along premieres on Disney+ on September 18, 2024. A number of other series are also in the works, including Eyes of Wakanda, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and more.
