“This film brings a chilling tale of survival against the forces of darkness,” the official synopsis reads. “Set in the 1950s, rookie BPRD agent Bobbie Jo Song finds herself in a dire situation when tasked with delivering a spider to the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense. She must enlist the help of Hellboy to confront the malevolent Crooked Man, who has returned to Earth to harvest souls for the devil.”

Hellboy: The Crooked Man comes from director Brian Taylor. Along with Kesy, it stars Adeline Rudolph, Jefferson White, Leah McNamara, Joseph Marcell, Hannah Margetson, and Martin Bassindale.

Prior to Hellboy: The Crooked Man, the character was played by Ron Perlman in two films that were directed by Guillermo del Toro: 2004’s Hellboy and 2008’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army. A third film was in the works for a time; however, it was officially canceled in 2017.

Stranger Things’ David Harbour then played the character in an R-rated reboot simply titled Hellboy that was directed by Neil Marshall. Released in 2019, the film was considered to be a box office comb as it made approximately $55.1 million at the global box office off an estimated $50 million budget.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man’s script is written by Mignola and Christopher Golden. Filming began in March 2023 before it then wrapped the following May.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man will be released in the fall of 2024 from Ketchup Entertainment.
