Superman Set Photos Offer First Look at Nathan Fllion’s Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl

The first images of Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced in 2025’s Superman have emerged.

Fillion will be playing Guy Gardner, a fan-favorite Green Lantern character in the forthcoming DCU Superman movie written and directed by James Gunn. Merced, meanwhile, is playing Hawkgirl.

New images, shared by the clevelanddotcom X account, reveal Fillion and Merced’s costumes in the movie. Check out the images below:

What else do we know about James Gunn’s Superman?

Superman stars David Corenswet as the Man of Steel. The cast of the movie also includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell, as Martha Kent, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe.

It was also recently confirmed that Will Reeve, the son of Superman actor Christopher Reeve, will have a role in the film, while Frank Grillo was spotted in costume as Rick Flag Sr. on the set of the film.

Additionally, Sean Gunn has been cast as Maxwell Lord in the DCU and Milly Alcock has been tapped to play Supergirl, though it’s unclear whether either of them will show up in Superman.

Superman officially began production on February 29, 2024. Filming is expected to last into August. The movie will be the first official film entry in Gunn and Safran’s forthcoming DCU, which officially kicks off later this year with an animated Creature Commandos series. The first slate of projects in the DCU is being referred to as “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.”

Superman will be released in United States theaters on July 11, 2025, from Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios.
