The voice cast of Transformers One includes Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/Megatron, Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion.

What is Transformers One about?

While not too much is known about the movie, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura opened up on what to expect from it last year. According to di Bonaventura, the project will actually focus on the origins of a young Megatron and young Optimus Prime, as the two start out as friends before ending up on rival sides of the battlefield.

The reason for covering this in an animated film, he says, is because it was simply “financially impossible” to do in a live-action format.

Transformers One is directed by Josh Cooley, who previously helmed 2019’s Toy Story 4. Cooley also wrote the script for 2015’s Inside Out and worked as a storyboard artist on a number of other Pixar movies, including 2004’s The Incredibles, 2006’s Cars, 2007’s Ratatouille, and 2009’s Up.

The script was written by Andrew Barrer, Gabriel Ferrari, Steve Desmond, and Michael Sherman. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem serve as producers on Transformers One.
